E-filing delay

Cgtcpa
Level 2

Submitted a couple of 1040's to the IRS for e-filing.  It's been at least 6 hours and the status still shows as "submitted to the IRS."

Anybody have any info about the delay?

Thanks!

6 hours?  If it was 6 days I would be worried, but I wouldn't be the least bit worried about 6 hours.

My typical processing times this tax season have consistently been between 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Six hours is very usual based on my experience this year.

This isn't primetime for return processing so things could have been delayed for some computer maintenance on the IRS side of things.

It is sometimes a little bit slower on weekend. Wouldn't worry about it

Weekends tend to be slower at times, check back Monday morning, Im sure they'll be acknowledged by then,

I never check in hours - usually efile end of day and check in the morning to give Intuit and IRS time. No sense stressing over nothing.
