Data conversion using C Drive

Stupid
Level 1

The data conversion process requires that a data conversion file be used on the C Drive.  We are in a cloud environment and the C Drive is not a drive we have access to.  Any ideas on a work around?  Support says there is no way to change the C Drive to another drive.

My first thought is that you need to download the files to your C drive.  Do the conversion, then upload them back into the cloud.

The C Drive is locked down and in-accessible to the locate machine.  Lacerte appears to be hard coded to look at C only.  I need Lacerte to move the location off the C Drive or my cloud service to open the C Drive for my use.  I have a large depreciation schedule I need to convert from Ultra-tax.

Like wise if a Lacerte user would convert the files for me I will gladly pay a handsome fee.

Just guessing - install Lacerte 2020 on a local drive on a non network computer https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/download-products/help/how-to-download-next-year-s-lacerte-p...

Do the conversion there. Then upload that date to the online version. I don't use the online, so just an educated guess.

If you are unable to do this, or it fails, you will need to contact support. https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/taxation/help/how-to-contact-lacerte-for-help/00/4691

I do know that once you do the conversion to 2020, you need to carefully review depreciation and state information for accuracy. Once you get things aligned you should go to Screen 3 and remove the check mark for Converted client (proforma use only) this is right above the break for Organizer Miscellaneous. This is for Individual only.

Here's wishing you many Happy Returns
