Maryland W2 electronic transmission

Maryland only accepts txt files.  Using Information Return System we check the box to use txt but thus far it is only applying that to the federal W2s.  I spoke to tech support last week and they submitted a ticket, but thus far is hasn't been corrected.  Any timeline on this fix?

So if you open and look at the W2000EF.txt file created by IRS system, it contains the entire W2 information, including the State information. I submit the same .txt for NM purposes and have not had any issues with this. I believe you can submit this as your state copy.

But what about employers with Multiple states, I don't want to submit other states to Maryland

I'm not entirely sure that the other states would be excluded from the .txt file. When we used to mail in paper copies of the state W2s, it included multiple states printed in the state boxes. I don't think it matters.
