Michigan non-resident getting EIC

My client is a Ohio resident and received gambling income from Michigan.  I am filing the Michigan tax return to claim the gambling and it is showing a earned income credit for him.  He is married jointly and has three minor children.  Is this correct?  It is showing $36.00 tax plus a $911.00 EIC giving a $875.00 refund.  Just seems too good to be true.  Thank you for all your help.

Is your client receiving EITC on federal. If not then he is not eligible to receive it in Michigan. Here is link.
