Hello,
I am using Foreign EFIN, because I am not a US citizen or resident alien.
I am living abroad now, and have been using ProSeries for about 4 years.
And my Firm's address is always shown in a strange format, like
in the City field, there are foreign city, foreign country, and even foreign zip code all together.
And in the State and ZIP Code fields, the US state and US zip code of the company that provided foreign EFIN.
I have been using this address so far, because there was no problem with e-file.
However, yesterday I tried to e-file Form 1041 and it was rejected, and the reason is explained as follows.
"The Paid Preparer's city name (in the Preparer's Address) cannot contain numbers,
punctuation, or special characters. Only alpha characters should be entered in this field.
Please correct the city name and re-transmit this return."
Should I tell my client to mail it?
Or somebody can help me with this issue?
