Client was issued his Social Security number march this year.

I cannot find an answer at the IRS website.  Client just was granted residentship in the US, he've been filing his taxes with an ITIN number, is it ok to file his taxes this year with the new number or the ITIN number?  Is there a waiting period to do it? Will he qualify for the EIC and the stimulus?

Thank you for answering, yes he was.  The reason I am asking about it is because I read somewhere that IRS might hold the refund or decline EIC. I have been calling IRS and that specific department is not taking phone calls no matter what time one calls.
