State Sch C audit - Document translation needed or not

Hello,

Does anyone knows if the IRS or State accept documents in other language?

I got a notice from state requesting information (income and expense document) to support for Sch C.

My client has some international business, some of the bank statement and invocie are not in English.

Do I need to translate to English and certify the translation?

Or if it is ok to submit with my explanation to the state?

Thanks!

They asked for the documentation, and that is the documentation you have, so submit it.  Attach some explanations where you can and if they need to get it completely translated from Canadian or whatever foreign language it is, I'm sure they will contact you for more info.

You are close enough to Canada, you can translate, eh?

I can speak a little broken Canadian.  I picked up most of my Canadian language skills from watching the McKenzie brothers
