1041 efile

Hi

I have a client with two 1041s in the same year -2022.  The first is for FYE 8/1/2022-7/31/2023.  Which I filed.  The second is for short year 8/1/2023-10/31/2023 final -attempting to file.

Should I paper file this short year as I am getting a critical diagnostic on using 2022 forms for 2023 activity.  Note, I think I can ignore the diagnostic as the 1041 has nothing by small losses and there are no 2023 tax changes that will affect the return.  I appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks,

0 Cheers

Paper file. I would even highlight the short year and cross out 2022 on the form and write 2023

If there are K-1s, do the same on those forms to give to the beneficiaries.
