State filing and the Unemployment Compensation Exclusion

How will Lacerte be handling the state returns as they relate to unemployment? Not all states will conform to the IRS and some states already exclude unemployment income from AGI (i.e. California). Will there be an addition to the Schedule CA (Form 540)?

Nobody knows, but we will be finding out shortly once the update is released.

Hopefully, they will be handling it correctly.

The fact that each state has their own reaction to these changes is part of why they don't release an update the next day. Yes CA Schedule CA will have one more adjustment line. (Hopefully)

Given that many states haven't even decided yet, it's a bit difficult for Intuit to "handle" it.
