Network printing problem

ChenFanLA
Level 1

Our company recently installed new network printers, HP M607 and HP M507 and when we sent Lacerte tax return prints (print complete return), the print jobs do not print completely, it comes out really slow and it prints few pages and it stops, and it's not showing print jobs are still pending. Print outs on HP M607 are not centered to the page, it's too close to the left. We have also installed a new network copier/printer and it's having the same issue of not printing tax returns in its entirety. We have no problem printing couple pages here and there, it's only on complete return print jobs. Does anyone have this type of issues?

Just a wild guess, but the print spooler may be the culprit. Talk with your IT person or if you are a do it yourself https://thegeekpage.com/how-to-start-stop-or-restart-print-spooler-in-windows-10/ to disable.

You may want to invest in a call to Lacerte Support https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/taxation/help/how-to-contact-lacerte-for-help/00/4691

If this is Windows 10, in Settings for Printers, there is a box to remove the checkmark for letting Windows manage your printer. You want to allow programs to manage. Confirm all your systems are not trying to manage the printer.

Having the same problem with 2 returns.  So far, all others have printed fine.  With both problem returns, it gets maybe half way through the Federal return and stops printing.  Also does not print state return.  No error messages, no print jobs pending, etc.

@Yooper Mike for those two problem returns, do they both stop at either the same form or the form that should come next? That may hold a clue as to the problem.

You may want to try the new Lacerte Tool Hub https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/help-articles/help/fix-common-problems-and-errors-with-the-l... that "should" fix printing errors.

They both print up to the page immediately before the Schedule 8812.  Schedule 8812 and every page thereafter do not print.  In case you are wondering, no, the last page to print is not the same on these 2 returns.  One it is Form 2442, the other Form 8806.

Thanks for the Tool Hub suggestion, but that didn't help either.

I solved the problem.  Needed to install a different printer driver.  For anybody else using a Sharp MX-B455W copier/printer, make sure you download and install the MX-B455W PS Driver from Sharpusa.com.  The Windows default driver that installs will give you problems.

"PS Driver"

PS = Post Script, a programming language to control printers. In case that conflicts with other functions, you can install that as if it is a different printer, and swap between them. I name them:

Inkjet PS

and

Inkjet

I also have WiFi or USB (sometimes the WiFi has interference), and that is:

Brother WiFi

Brother USB

It's fun to be your own IT Department, right?
