Lacerte 2021 doesn't open after entering my password. If you hover over the icon on the task bar it shows a white box.

Do you see that white box anywhere on your monitor? It sounds like the program IS running, just not someplace where you can see it.
What I do is click over to another program (watch the highlight below that program's icon in the Taskbar), then back to Lacerte (so that I *know* that it is the current program). Then Alt+Space (brings up the window menu), 'M' (for 'move'), and mash some of the arrow keys a little. Then--withOUT clicking!--drag the mouse around until your window has been brought into visibility.
