E-mailing a Lacerte client file to another tax preparer

The article of the same name, indicates that one can not (should not?) use the 64-bit version of Outlook.

Support thinks I should receive at least a warning with the 64 Bit version of Outlook (or other non-compliant tools)

Does not make a lit of sense to me why it cares about MAPI or bit level.

Has anyone used the 64-bit version and can report success or failure?

I have a large number of clients to transfer to another accountant.  As there is not the ability to create the ITY as file by itself, my plan was to "Send as email", but save all the ITY file attachments to a thumb drive and deliver to our partner.  Again, thoughts or concerns?

Use the built-in backup function in Lacerte; select the pertinent clients & back them up to that thumb drive you'll be 'delivering' to your partner.

Thanks, Thought of that, but unfortunately they need the ITY file so they can be run thru another vendors import process.

When they receive the backup files, they can "restore" them to their system and then prepare them for conversion.
