2022 corporate e-file returns not processing

MrsFrazier
Level 2

We have two fiscal year corporate returns due 1/16/2024 that we have already e-filed, but the e-file status is stuck at "intuit pending".  The e-files are not processing.  What is happening?

E files are not processing because it is only January 15th

It's a fiscal year end return due January 16th.  No need to be a jerk.  You are wrong.

Why is it an insult to point out that you missed information?  Info that most tax pros know, as the IRS closes down *every year* to retool for the upcoming filing season.  Info that Intuit notified all users of....

Ummm... exactly what is "wrong" about the post?  The IRS *IS* closed for efiling right now, and Intuit 'DID' notify all of us.

The IRS even notified those of us that signed up for IRS alerts.  It's a really good tool for tax pros.

Hope your filing season gets better.

The IRS does shut down to prep for the next season, of course.  I am well aware of this.  However, the IRS does not stop accepting corporate fiscal year returns when they are due.  There are corporate fiscal year end returns due tomorrow.  The question is why is Lacerte not processing them?

No insult intended.  Just trying to help by providing information you obviously weren't aware of.

IRS DOES stop accepting any and all e-filed returns for a period of time each year.

It is Intuit's stated policy.  They don't 'stockpile' returns when the IRS isn't open.  Well, except for some Turdohhhhhh Tax returns.

"However, the IRS does not stop accepting corporate fiscal year returns when they are due"

I'll be as brief as possible so as to not to appear to be insulting anyone today ----------------- Wrong.

"...However, the IRS does not stop accepting corporate fiscal year returns when they are due."

OK - your statement is partially correct.  You can always mail the sucker in.  But you can't efile it, at least not today.   And, you can't even mail it today, as the PO is closed for MLK Day.  Good thing it isn't due until tomorrow.
