This is preventing small business and sole proprietor tax returns from e-filing if they have credits for purchasing/installing solar panels in 2023.  According to the IRS Form 3468 instructions and related FAQ's, these types of tax payers are not even eligible for elective pay and therefore do not need a registration number.  Lacerte support says it is an IRS problem and the return should be paper filed.  Why would the IRS want all of these returns to be paper filed?  It would only increase their workload.  Is Lacerte actively working with the IRS to resolve this issue?

Agreed - this is a Lacerte issue. IRS would not want these all to be paper filed.

Maybe disabling the efile error would be a work around, to file it as is.
