Form 8962 Line 27: Excess Advance Payment of PTC

For 2021, my understanding is that excess advance payments of PTC are to be paid back in 2021 (in 2020 they were waived).  However, in the Proseries Basic software, I have a situation where line 25 (Advance payment of PTC) exceeds line 24 (Total Premium tax credit).  That difference is supposed to go to LIne 27 (Excess Advance payment of PTC) and then to Form 1040.  However, in Proseries Basic for 2021, line 27 is blank instead of showing the excess.  Can someone help explain to me why?

I think I did not have the correct boxes checked on another form. When I corrected those boxes, the amounts showed up!

I wish you said which boxes!  I am having the same problem now!

Found the answer - on the info worksheet it asks if the taxpayer can be claimed as a dependent.  Didn't think to look there because they are way beyond the usual dependent age/ income level, wouldn't normally need to answer that.  I guess when you have the PTC, you have to answer it no matter what

Thanks for the answer.  I was wondering why the amounts were not populated.
