EV Tax Credit in Inflation Reduction Act

BobKamman

I'll go along with those who are saying this will increase the cost of EV's and therefore lower the demand.  One interesting change --

"...the credit will be available upfront at the point of sale, rather than needing to file for it on your taxes in the following April – a welcome change that is long overdue."

Except buyers are just going to see that as one more gimmick from the dealers, that have been offering rebates for years while figuring out other scams to boost profits.  And some people will pay $7,500 more just to get a tax refund of $7,500.  That's what has been happening in the solar industry for decades.
