depreciation by tenants in common

Can tenants in common use different depreciation methods for multi-family residential real estate. ie can one use ADS and one use the standard?  If ADS is available that tenant in common can avoid business interest limitations

Consider that there may be other ways to avoid the limitation. Such as an electing real property trade or business
