Why on Schedule C won't ProSeries accept a six-digit manually input Principal Business Code? It was doing this nonsense a couple weeks ago and now it is doing it again!

The 6 digit code for Direct Selling Establishment is not listed in the options so I previously input 454390 but Proseries' coding has lost connection to what was input in prior year and now won't allow me to input the code.  It just returns pink box for error.  Please fix coding!  Unless someone knows a work-around other than just inputting 999999?

That is because that is no longer a valid code. Have you looked at the Schedule C Instructions?

Nonstore Retailers
Nonstore retailers sell all types
of merchandise using such
methods as Internet, mail-order
catalogs, interactive television,
or direct sales. These types of
Retailers should select the PBA
associated with their primary
line of products sold.

For example, establishments
primarily selling prescription
and non-prescription drugs,
select PBA code
456110
Pharmacies & Drug Retailers
.

Apparently code 454390 is no longer accepted by IRS. Scroll down the Principal Code Listing to 459990  and read the note just below it regarding Non Store Retailers and what code is to now be selected.
