When printing returns, if it contains 1040 ES payments, my printer consistently stops at the end of printing those forms and does not print anything else. If I create a pdf, it works fine. Any suggestions

I noticed after the update a few weeks ago to fix the print order that had been screwed up by a previous update, I do have a lot of pauses in my printing, sounds like yours pauses but never keeps going? Have you tried powering off the printer since it began? Sometimes they need a reboot to clear the RAM.
