You mean refund advances?  Proseries doesn't handle any refunds, that's handled by the banking products, you'd have to check with the bank product you've chosen to use.

With direct deposit, refunds arrive in less than 2 weeks, why anyone would want to pay extra $ to get it faster than that, seems silly.

Yes, I understand that the banking products handle this, but the banking products can only offer what the tax software allows.  Refund Advantage, for example, does not do refund advances when using them through the ProSeries.  But for our other software, Refund Advantage does allow them, so this does have to do with the software product you are using, as well as the bank product you are using.

As for why would anyone want it, we have over 50 clients who come specifically for the refund advances, and would go somewhere else if we couldn't offer them.  Also, under Refund Advantage, if the client chooses the 25% option, there is no charge to the client, the additional charge is to the ERO, and it is worth it to the firm to keep the clients.

Very few people that come to this board regularly use any banking products, you may want to call support or ask in the ProSeries group on Facebook, I see people talking about banking products all the time.

Thanks for the link!  I was given this link by a ProSeries tech when I asked him about it.

Did you get any reply that works?   I have been wondering how to offer advance products to my clients for years but Proseries does not offer them with any bank they use.   I love proseries and do not know of any other software as good for my needs but I may have to change if I cannot find something that works.  I am losing clients because I do not offer this service.

I went to the FIW (Fed Info Wks) and in part 8 (VIII) it has options for Refund-Advance.

https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/register-or-activate-services/help/how-do-i-enroll-in-pay-by...

New for 2020 ProSeries customers can now enroll in Refund advance loans through your participating Pay-by-Refund bank!

In order to participate in a cash advance program you will need to select this option during enrollment, or contact the bank to sign up later.

  • Funding takes place after the IRS has accepted the tax return. This is known as a Post-Ack offering.
  • Enrollment is not valid for customers in Illinois.
  • What does it cost?
    • TPG’s Fast Cash Advances program for refund advance loans eligible up to $500 and $1000. These loans are free to the taxpayer and cost the preparer $39.95. This fee can be waived through a $39.95 rebate at the end of tax season when the loan is disbursed and IRS-funded on a prepaid Green Dot card.
    • Refund Advantage’s Taxpayer Advance Loan program for refund advance loans eligible up to $500 and $1000. These loans are free to the taxpayer and cost the preparer $40. This fee can be waived through a $40 rebate at the end of tax season when the loan is disbursed and IRS-funded on a FasterMoney Visa Prepaid Card.
  • Contact the bank for further information.

So how do we select the option for refund advance in the software? My bank product has already approved me for refund advances. They are advising me to sign up for a software that allows it. I do not see any option to select refund advance.
