Sold a stock position at a loss and within the 30 day period was assigned on a short put that had been originally entered into two months earlier (clearly in excess of the 60 day window). Would this be considered a wash sale?

the 1099B shows it as a wash sale, however I am questioning this with the broker based on the put issue (entered in in excess of the 30 day rule).
