Taxpayer's spouse died on 9/13/23. Why is ProSeries telling me that DOD cannot be after 9/2/23?

ProSeries doesn't allow anyone to die after they last updated the software.  See if there's an update available or wait to file after the next one comes out.

Those Intuit death rules can be tough sometimes.  You can always paper file if updating your software doesn't work.

Is that what happens?  I know most of the time an update fixes it, but not always, I guess there needs to be an update for it to get fixed, so weird.

I wonder if using Repair Updates would work if no update was available?

I just filed  one w/ DOD 9/11/23... no errors/accepted. Try  updating or dropping your workstation in a lake.

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround

@IRonMaN yeah you are right IronMan, but for some tax preparers filing a paper return is equivalent to walking into a leper colony.

For the record, I would walk into one of those leper colonies before I would call Intuit support.
