No State Withholding

I have a W-2 where no state tax was withheld and no state ID provided.  It fails final review. Any work around?

That will happen if your resident state has income taxes, just use the federal ID number in the state ID box.

You can try putting the federal ID number in the state ID box...since theres no withholding, it shouldnt be an issue.

you shouldn’t need state entries on w2 worksheet (because not all states have income tax). Make sure you remove the defaulted home state from the line.

This fix didn't work.  I received an error when I entered the federal EIN.

It really failed??? You should be able to put nonsense in there. @Just-Lisa-Now- is correct, just put in the FEIN
