We can check a box to get the K-1 letters with the K-1's, why isn't there a similar box to print the Basis Statements with the K-1's?

It would make sense for them to print along with the K-1s, I agree....I wouldnt expect to see it implemented anytime soon though.
Even better would be a way to print both fed and state K-1s at the same time, collated for each recipient, but alas, thats not an option either.

Yes federal with state would be great but my suggestion is just baby steps towards a professional program.
