North Carolina PTE Credit Input? NC Salt Parity Election

SL855
Level 3

I've done PTE election for a number of states, but am struggling to figure out how North Carolina works. Spent a fair bit of time on the phone with ProSeries support, but they do not seem completely clear either.

  1. Working on an 1120S and unlike other states there is no button for PTE election. The only way I can get it to pay the tax is to select "is the S Corporation making the election to be a Taxed S Corporation for the year 2022?" Based on guidance on Lacerte and ProConnect that seems to be what you're supposed to do, but is a very different process than every other state. So I question if we're triggering the right thing
    1. ProConnect: https://proconnect.intuit.com/support/en-us/help-article/income-taxes/enter-north-carolina-pte-proco...
    2. Lacerte: https://proconnect.intuit.com/support/en-us/help-article/income-taxes/enter-north-carolina-pte-lacer...
  2. Once that Taxed S Corporation election is done, I cannot find a corresponding credit anywhere on the NC K-1. Again, every other state the credit shows up on the state K-1 as a credit

I suppose there are two main questions here: 1) is this the correct way to trigger the PTE election and if so 2) where does the credit (or maybe subtraction) show up on the K-1 and how do you input it?

EDIT: I spoke with someone at the NC Department of Taxation. They advised that the amount from Line 10 of the NC K-1 should then be flowing through as a deduction on line 38 of the NC K-1. That is not currently happening, which means it is likely an issue with ProSeries.
