Local overpayment credit from prior year

PATAX

On local earned income tax return the overpayment credit applied from the previous year does not come forward on the 2023 local eit return. It has to be manually entered. For local eit returns in Pennsylvania. Wouldn't be surprised if it's happening in other states too. Maybe Intuit can fix this?

"Maybe Intuit can fix this?"

Of course they can.  But the better question is - will they?

If Jim was in Pa I am not sure if he could do returns that quickly.

It never has, and it never will.

There are not enough PA preparers for Intuit to work on that.

@Accountant-Man 👍You're right Dan. That's why before doing a return I always review the prior year returns and the prior letter sent to client.

No different than trusts which pay a state income tax due; it's deductible on the 1041. So I look it up on the prior year's return.
