Last name too long

I’m doing a w7 and w7 COA ( I’m a CAA) and the last name for the client is two part so the entire name does not fit. It’s missing one letter at the end! What can or should I do? The ItiN process requires everything to match the passport.

Any ideas suggestions? Thank you.

Yep - just drop the last letter and let your client know what happened so that they don't think you're being sloppy.

The IRS only uses the SS, and first four letters of last name; IE  Smith-Nelson, they use Smit.

I'm not sure exactly the requirements are on your end, but can you manually fill out the forms on paper, and just write very small to fit it in?
