I have a client that received a K-1 with an Iowa Fuel Tax Credit of $415. I go to the Iowa Form 4136, scroll all the way down to Line 8 (pass-through entity section), and fill out the PTE's name, EIN, share %, and finally the credit. The credit flows-through to Line 8 correctly, and also flows to the main return (Step 6, Line 23) correctly. So, what's the problem? ProSeries is generating an error saying that the number on Step 6, Line 23 must equal the total fuel tax credit reported on IA 4136 for electronic filing. Both spots say $415, so what the heck is the error?
Am I missing a checkbox somewhere, or is this yet another Iowa tax return glitch?
