If I wanted to change my tax filing business from Sole Proprietorship to an LLC, do I need to apply for a new EFIN or can I just update the information in irs eservices?

For the last 5 years, I prepared and filed tax returns as a sole proprietor. I have recently for an two member LLC, myself as one member and wanted to file the taxes in the new business name. Do I have to apply for a new efin or can I just update the information in the eservices?

See https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/do-you-need-a-new-ein for information on whether or not you need a new EIN.  Since you apparently changed from a sole-proprietorship to an LLC partnership, I suspect that you have a new company and will need a new EIN and EFIN.

I do have an EIN for the LLC but not the EFIN. Do we have to go through that long process of getting the new EFIN or can it be obtained quickly in a few days. I guess I need to work with the same sole proprietorship and EFIN for this upcoming tax season and apply for new EFIN later in summer.
