HSA - Employer contributions

W-2 Box 12 W, employer contribution to health savings account.  Why is this showing up on line 8 of the 1040 as other income (via Schedule 1 line 8e)?  It shouldn't show up as a taxable number.

You have to enter (somewhere...I don't use PS) that your client has an HSA plan & the type (family, single, etc...)

Hopefully a PS user will wander by with the specific place to enter said info in the program.

You need to go to the 8889 and mark the Self or Family box in the Smart Worksheet below Line 2 (I think its Line 2)

Be sure not to enter the contribution again on the 8889.  If they only made contributions through payroll, you dont enter anything more on the 8889.
