extension accepted....BUT..

So I have a client that I filed an extension for on 4/18.  ProSeries has it in the "accepted" tab in the EF center, with extension accepted noted.   My 'client status' worksheet has the extension accepted 4/18 marked ( i don't think you can override those to input a date accepted..at least i never tried).  the 4868EF has it accepted on 4/18/22.  But i get the ugly red mark on the Info wks where I marked to e-file the 4868 , that says today's date in too late to efile a 4868? Can I just efile the return and tell it to ignore that error checking step?  If I uncheck the "efile the 4868" on the info worksheet, it removes all the info about being accepted timely from the 4868.

To be safe, print the client e-filing history report showing the acceptance.  Then go ahead and unclick the "e-file" extension.  Then you should be good to go.

I’d definitely follow suggestion to keep proof that 4868 was filed and accepted….. then whatever it takes to file the return…. Yeah, I’d uncheck the error checking box….. Of course, you could always call tech support, but i try to save that option for really special occasions…. Like tornadoes, tsunamis, and Intuit product enhancements.

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround

Don’t be skeered.  Just grab those scissors and run like the wind.
