Hello,
I have two questions in reference to elections mentioned in IRS Publication 519.
1. I am looking for a sample copy of Election that we attached to Form 1040 or Form 1040X for:
A. Election to be treated as a Resident Alien; and
B. Election to treat Non-Resident spouse as a Resident Alien
2. Can we scan the Election with taxpayer's signature in PDF format and attached it to E-Filed tax return? Or does IRS want the election with actual signatures to be mailed?
Will greatly appreciate your help in this matter.
