Can the extension and the finished return be different files

Electronically filed extension which was accepted. No payment made.  Entered the completed return as a new file.  Is there any reason why I can't or shouldn't efile the new file?

Agree with TAXOH, you can efile the new, just note that if you're on a Basic 20 or Basic 50 package this will count as another return against your balance, OR if you've reached your given quantity you will have to Pay the authorization for the new file.
