ca form 3804 e-file issue

Anyone found a reasonable workaround for the obvious programming error on CA form 3804 whenever any of the partners are revocable trusts?  There is an error message requiring an individual name for the partner, which prevents the CA return from being e-filed.  I have reported the issue more than once going back to late Feb with no action.  I have six returns backed up with this problem, and the only solutions offered (file a paper return, or identify the partner as an individual rather than a revocable trust) are not acceptable.  Other people must be having this problem as well.

Hello,

The error messages that appear on the Form 3804 Worksheet when the return is set to e-file are set up to be in alignment with the latest version e-file schema for CA Form 3804. Currently, the FTB’s schema requires that a FEIN be entered when the corresponding qualified taxpayer is a Trust. The e-file schema does not allow a SSN or ITIN when the qualified taxpayer is a Trust. Therefore, in order to file a Form 3804 with a SSN or ITIN entered for a Trust, the return would need to be paper-filed.
