1099 R code G; partial transferred to Traditional IRA partial converted to ROTH

MJKCPA
Level 1

Because of the code G the program is automatically showing 100% of gross distribution as rolled over, however part has been converted to a ROTH. Line B6 under Rollovers, ROTH conversions askes for amount of partial ROTH conversion, however the program does not appear to recognize an amount there.

I had something similar a few years ago, I think I ended up splitting the 1099-R into two entries.  Shouldn't be a big deal since there's no withholding to match at IRS.  Figured I Could Alternatively Report Extra Stuff.

Yeah, I think I remember that from prior years.  Some of those "B" lines are boxes don't do what they are supposed to.

You can override B4 then check the box for B5.

It should still let you e-file, but you might need to disable e-file error checking.
