Efile confirmation letter's Accepted Date should match the accepted date on submission ID history.

SL1

Per the submission ID history, my client's Federal efile was in "Accepted" status time-stamped on 8/15/2022, 5:01pm PST.  Yet, the efile confirmation letter (PDF) would state 8/16/2022 as the accepted date.  When I printed the efile confirmation letter on 8/15/2022 for my client's record, the letter has stated 8/16 (i.e. the following day!?!) as the Federal accepted date.

This is clearly an error and very confusing for my client.  When I went on LiveChat for help, the rep told me it is because the efile confirmation letter was generated based on GMT.  Not sure why GMT would have anything to do with the efile confirmation letter not showing the actual accepted date as shown in the submission ID history.  Regardless, 5pm PST on 8/15 can't possibly be 8/16 anywhere in the US!

Please fix the efile confirmation letter to match the accepted date as shown in the submission ID history.  Thanks.

I always rely on the 9325 form for that specific information and the 9325 is what I include in the clients paperwork. I've never had anyone ask for an acceptance letter in the 10 years that I prepared returns.

I believe you are asking for a correction of something that isn't broken at Intuit.

Proconnect Tax Online does not generate Form 9325.

Oh, well I wonder why not, Intuit? Even the Free File software at IRS.gov, generate the 9325, so what's up, Intuit?

Probably something that everyone would like to have included in the software, but nobody at Intuit cares, as is the case with many ongoing issues in ProSeries Professional that could easily be fixed, but never gets fixed, and we all just work around it to get the client's return filed..

The date on your confirmation letter is still the one you want to use, regardless of it being the next day. Who knows if 5:01pm is one minute over the cut off time, and I'm not even going to make sense of the GMT involvement, but it clearly effects the Acceptance date.

The only thing that truly matters is that it was not Rejected. Try not to rush feeding information to your client, unless the software makes that impossible. Most taxpayers don't have a clue how tax processing works, and as I said, not one client has ever asked me for a confirmation that their return was Accepted, they rely on me to be taking care of those details.
