New ProConnect user. Accidentally checked single rather than HOH. Surprised program would not have caught a bigger refund with HOH on review. Does it ever do this?

No. The program can not protect the preparer from checking the wrong box. You could input the Prior Year amounts for a comparison, which should signal YOU, THE PREPARER that something doesn't look right.

By checking "Single", you indicated the client had circumstances that would not qualify for Head of Household.  Why would the program think your entry was incorrect?
