    How to designate a pension as exempt from state-tax? Entering "0" for "State Taxable Amount, if different" on 1099-R input screen, isn't working

    0 is -1 in Lacerte and PTO.

    Why is it exempt from state tax? There's liable to be a box to check or code to enter.
