Change of email for client does not alter in Intuit Link

As directed by the instructions, I changed the client email in the client's profile.  However, no matter what I try, this email change does not carry over into Intuit Link.

Within Intuit Link it still shows the inactive email and I need to correct this and then resend the link and tax organizer.

Any suggestions?
