If your earned income was higher in 2019 than in 2020, you can use the 2019 amount to figure your EITC for 2020. This temporary relief is provided through the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2020.
Lacerte is not taking all the earned income from 2019 and posting to the 2020 tax program. It is not transferring all the income to 38.2 recovery rebate under the 2019 earned income. From the 3 of my returns I have found the errors on so far it is only transferring the w2 income and not schedule c income for earned income from 2019. This has made a substantial mistake on my clients tax return but I caught it by going back and looking at 2019. How many professionals will just take the number lacerte populates that 2019 earned income field on 38.2 and not go back and look. I do not go back on many items as I trust Lacerte. I am glad I did research this one.
