Lacerte program is not transferring all of 2019 earned income to 2020

thomaslongfellow

If your earned income was higher in 2019 than in 2020, you can use the 2019 amount to figure your EITC for 2020. This temporary relief is provided through the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2020.

In the 2020 lacerte tax program uner 38.2 in the 2019 earned income amount transfered from the 2019 tax program is only tranfering w-2 income.  It is not transferring the schedule C income for the earned income calculation.  It is not transferring the amount from the 2019 earned income worksheet to the 2020 lacerte tax program under 38.2.    Please let everyone know so we don't have a bunch of messed up returns or returns that didn't get what they deserved for the earned income credit.

1) You say this is a Lacerte issue, but you posted under PS.

2) If this is really a bug, you need to report it DIRECTLY to tech support.

3) Post it in the Lacerte forum, so everyone is made aware.  I haven't seen anyone else reporting the issue.
