upgrading my computer system

I can find the minimum system requirements for Lacerte, but what are the optimum processing speeds for workstations, and servers

My question is because I don't want to go overkill and buy more processing speed than will actually help the program run better and faster.

Anyone know the answer?

In my opinion, there is no need for high processing speed.  Tax programs don't need a lot of processing power.

Things that MAY be helpful is some form of a solid-state drive (SSD) and plenty of RAM (I would get 16GB or more).  In my opinion, those are the most important things for any new computer (and generally if you buy a pre-built computer with an SSD and plenty of RAM, the rest of the specs will be fairly good as well).

What Bill says !

The RAM seems to be the most important (I have done 16 GB minimum, and two computers with 32 GB).  I've also noticed that the SSD's are much, much better and well worth the money.
