Taxpayer paying Maryland estimated tax payments automatically using Lacerte. We want to stop the payments for the last two quarters of 2022. How do we achieve this?

Do we need to contact Maryland and do we need a power of attorney to do this?  Or can it be accomplished through the Lacerte software?

You need to contact MD. It is out of Lacerte's hands.

If you have the  authorization on the tax return you don't need a POA.

If the person tells you they can't cancel the payments and to contact the software company they are wrong. Happened to me abut 2 weeks ago.
