Critical Diagnostics says tax payer and spouse's name is too long (Ref#4557).  This client 2021 e-file was accepted as the same name as 2022.  The critical diagnostic was shown last year as well.   The name is not that long. The spouse's last name has two last name with a hyphen (-).  Is the hyphen caused of this diagnostics?  How should I do for fix?  Would it be accepted the e-file even though I don't fix their names like 2021?

There are numerous previous threads on this; it is a new 'critical' diagnostic for 2022.

All you have to do is disable the efile diagnostic, then send the return.

(E-File > down to efile support tools > last one is "disable efile error")

I've done it on at least ten clients so far this filing season with no issues.
