Two SSA-1099 forms

Taxmaster
Level 2

Client received an SSA-1099 for her social security benefits - but also received an SSA-1099 for benefits received on behalf of her deceased son.   Where do I report that second form?    I'm assuming these are reportable.   Son was on social security disability until he died in 2019.    Have never run across anything like this before.   Always thought social security benefits stopped when a person dies.

I use Proseries but I just add the 2 together and enter on 1 worksheet.

Is her SSN at the top of both forms?

Along with the worker’s children and spouses, their dependent parents also may be eligible for a survivors benefit.
