client letter ? still says send payment by April 18th. I thought that changed after April 18th

Doesn't the client letter date change after the filing date of April 18th?

You can override the letter to say "ASAP" (Screen 3, I think..).  Which, for a delinquent return might be a good idea.

Or, put the date in the penalty & interest screen 8, even if there aren't any.

Have you "extended" the return in Lacerte?  If so, the due date should change.  If you just printed the extension but didn't check the boxes to extend the return, the program does not know you extended and the original due date will be shown.

It does fix the date 

it’s a new client and there was no extension form done 

So I wasn’t thinking
