NOL Carryforward

Need help with NOL carryforward from 2021 to 2022 Individual.

NOL worksheet 1 Line 24 2021 Net Operating Loss: <2,700>

Computation of 2021 Taxable Income for NOL Utilization: Taxable income: <12,555> + NOL carryovers from 2020 and later: 9,222 = 2021 Taxable income before NOL deduction: <3,333>

Schedule 1 line 8A 2020 NOL Utilization: Initial Loss: 9,222. NOL carryover available in 2021: 9,222. Taxable income before NOL deduction: <3,333>. NOL absorbed this year: 0. Taxable income after the deduction: 0. NOL carryover to 2022: 9,222.

NOL worksheet 3. NOL carryover to 2022: Worksheet 1 line 25: 2,700. Excess business loss: 0.NOL carryover to next year: 2,700.

I keep getting critical diagnostic #53656.  I called Lacerte and was transferred to 4 people who basically sent me to the IRS website.  I don't know why the software can't calculate this when I pay as much as I do for it, but I don't know what to enter to override the NOL absorbed this year. If I enter -1 then it is all carry forward and I end up with taxable income. of 1,278.

Am I supposed to then go back and take out the -1 and show the NOL absorbed as 80% of the new taxable income (1278 * 80%=1,022)?  OR do I leave it as -1 and all of it is carried forward and the taxpayer is left with positive taxable income? OR Am I supposed to take 80% * <3,333> (taxable loss) and show 2,666 absorbed?  These options all came from 3 other CPAs that read the regulations differently.  Please HELP!
