For multi states K-1, how do you keep track of passive loss carryovers for the non resident states as filing is not required for the non resident states when the K-1 have losses?

Enormous Excel file. It includes helpful notes like "this state doesn't permit passive loss carryforwards; every year stands alone" and "this state requires a return be filed for every year in which a passive loss was incurred if you want to use it in the year it frees up" and "the return filing requirement for this state is $X of state-source income."
