Intuit Link -- Cannot send organizer to MFJ for two former single clients

There is a major problem with the product when we cannot send an Intuit Link tax organizer to a MFJ client in a case where the two taxpayers were formerly two single clients who are now married.  The product refuses to send it, saying that the SSN and email are associated with another client.  There appears to be no way to delete the former single taxpayer files, and making them inactive doesn't work either.  I spent over three hours on the phone with two different LaCerte agents trying to make this work, and while both were very polite, neither could make it work.  This needs to be corrected!
