On a "final year" Form 1041, does federal w/h from an IRA distribution (not only backup w/h) made in the estate's EIN also get passed through to the K-1s?

2017 Form 1041 with K-1s.  Fed w/h is being listed on K-1s instead of as a Form 1041, Page 1 refund.

No.  It should be refunded back to the estate.

It should, and it is allowed, BUT DON'T DO IT! It gets screwed up by the IRS.

Sorry, just ranting, but still waiting after THREE YEARS to get the refund. I amended to get the estate's refund back instead of passed through, so the client could use it to pay the tax on the income PASSED THROUGH TO THE TAXPAYER AND HIS LATE WIFE from their SON'S ESTATE.

But not getting any help from the IRS.

I have that situation and can't find a way to change it.  I guess maybe I should stop trying according to Accountant Man?  All I was finding is posts from people asking how to get w/h to flow to K-1's and I cannot get it NOT to! Lol
